Confidential navigation systems company
Impact ES–Rhode Island developed enhancements to an existing navigation system to run on a new hardware platform based on the Motorola Coldfire processor.
As the project transitioned to a new hardware platform, the client required engineering support to extend their internal team. The software needed to be compatible with previously developed modules used across other company products. In addition to software development, the client also required hardware support to build out the new platform.
Impact ES–Rhode Island developed and tested the navigation software, which delivers navigation data to various output devices using inputs from multiple GPS units, a compass, and an odometer. The software supports the WGS-84 map datum.
Working under a compressed development timeline, Impact ES–Rhode Island contributed to the design and implementation of the software using the client’s selected tools and environment. This included writing serial drivers and high-level control logic to meet project goals efficiently.
