PocketCPR

.

Client

Confidential consumer medical device company

Project Scope

Designed a consumer product to aid the teaching of CPR to non‑medical personnel

Challenge

The company needed a new product that could measure the depth of chest compressions to provide real-time feedback during CPR instruction. The client already had prototype electronics but required modifications to add functionality and adapt the design to a new form factor.

Solution

Impact ES–Rhode Island designed a printed circuit board (PCB) with a break-away panel to house a vertically mounted accelerometer. The team also designed a “puck”-style enclosure. Both the PCB and enclosure designs were approved by the client.

Outcome

The updated design enabled the client to move forward with a compact, consumer-ready CPR training aid.
